Motorcycle Around Bend, Oregon April 30, 2021
A playlist of all of the videos from the ride from April 28 thru May 01, 2021.
We started by going on a hike to Deschutes National Forest - Tumalo Falls. Drove the car to get to this hike, so no motorcycle GPS to the trail is available. When we got there we found that the 2 mile road to Tumalo Falls was also closed for winter ... BUT ... There was a parking lot and parking on the road right at the gate and LOTS of sunshine. We walked in and back out. Not a bad hike, 6 miles round trip and 500+ feet elevation gain:
After about 2 miles we got to the upper parking lot at Tumulo Falls. From THAT parking lot it was a very short distance and we could see the falls:
There are MANY trails throughout the area, we took a side trail just to get out into the forest. Snow was still on the ground:
Walking back the sky was blue, they day perfect and the views were amazing:
We looked at the map, and there was a chance that the west entrance to Newberry National Volcanic Monument *might* be open. Plus it would be a nice ride in this video no matter what. But yeah, it was still closed. Again, lesson learned, even in early May roads can still be closed for cleanup / snow removal.
From there back to lodgings in Bend, OR for dinner and the night.
