Motorcycle ride of the Columbia River starting at the Pacific and ending up at Biggs Junction on the Washington Oregon border 2022-04-22

The Invisibilia podcast discussed Norwegian 'Slow TV'. I decided to make this entire trip all Slow TV videos, each video is the ride for the entire day.

The Columbia river snakes across the landscape going North, South, East and West through mountains, semi-arid desert and everything in between. There are not always paved roads along the river but I was able to stick pretty close to the river for most of the trip.

I started out from home working my way south and west to the mouth of the Columbia where it empties into the Pacific ocean. The ride was down the super slab, finally into the forests and finally arrived at the the Pacific Ocean and looked for a convenient place to take a picture. For the first section of my ride, arriving at the mouth of the Columbia, you see constant reminders that the Lewis and Clark expedition travelled along the Columbia. There is a marker at Cape Dissapointment where the Columbia empties out into the Pacific Ocean:

For lunch time I crossed the Astoria-Megler Bridge , a 4+ mile long bridge going across the Columbia River to Astoria and ate the Bridgewater Bistro, a known good restaurant.

Driving through Portland was slow and painful considering I had just driven nice clean open roads. But it is what it is. I had ridden the North side of the river previously, highway 14, so I wanted to see what the south side of the river looked like. Not much other roads to ride for the south side of the river.

Along I-84 is a not to miss sight / site, Multnomah Falls. Right on the highway, easy access and beautiful:
