Motorcycle Ride from North Bend Washington to Pendleton OR - 20230709
A playlist of all of the videos from the ride of 2023-07-09 to 2023-07-13. The playlist consists of Slow TV videos. The video of the ride for this day is here. The Invisibilia podcast discussed Norwegian 'Slow TV'.
I started out on I-90 going down past Ellensburg, From there I turned off onto Highway 821, to ride along the Yakima River in the canyon along the river as shown in this video. About half way down there was a nice pullout at the Big Pines Recreation Site where boats were launched into the Yakima River. Standard picture of 'here is my bike all loaded and ready to go':
And a picture of river:
The rest of the ride was fairly uneventful, just crossing the plains of eatern Washington. I got would around the axel a little with the GPS and headed north, but corrected my route pretty quickly. And dealing with the wind. If you see wind farms that is your clue that you may hit winds. My next stop that I wanted to do is to get a blanket for my motorcycle tent, more on that later.
The final stop and lodgings for the night was the KOA at Pendleton, nice views of the plains:
And the motorcycle / camping set up. The tent is a Wingman Of The Road Toucan Motorcycle Camping tent. The blanket I bought at the Pendleton Wool Mills you see (that fits PERFECTLY) is the 'In Their Element' twin size blanket:
The net with the zipper closes the entire side on the tent and it kept the bugs out (not many to speak of). Later that night when it got colder I pulled the canvas flap down, pulled the wool blanket on top of me and I was good. The tent was big enough to put all my motorcycle gear at one end inside the tent so I could prop up my feet if I needed to. The bag with my clothes / shower bag served as a pillow, I put my hoodie on top of the clothes bag to make it softer. All in all a comfortable sleeping arraingement.
