Motorcycle Ride from Clyde Holliday State Recreation through Hells Canyon to Joseph, OR - 20230712

A playlist of all of the videos from the ride of 2023-07-12 to 2023-07-13. The playlist consists of Slow TV videos. The video of the ride for this day is here. The Invisibilia podcast discussed Norwegian 'Slow TV'.

Clyde Holliday State Recreation had lots of mosquitoes, repellant would have been nice. I was glad I had the zipper net on the tent. Got up, packed the bike and got on the road to Hells Canyon. This was going to be a fun day to ride the bike, LOTS more twisties. On the way I stopped at a HUGE Covered wagon that overlooked the Strawberry Mountain Range, yet another vast landscape. Description of the range (again, click on the picture to get a clearer view of the words):

And the mountain range itself:

Went past the entrance to Hells Canyon to fill the tank at the closest gas station Scotty's Hells Canyon Outdoor Supply, Octane 91 Ethanol free! Yay!. Everybody was nice, good atmosphere. Has lots of outdoor supplies & trinkets.

I started up Hells Canyon in the video. VERY little traffic. Pretty much me and the road. ATTENTION! NFS Roads MAY NOT have 'Hey! Curve coming up, (suggested speed)' (but they do have signs randomly). It is UP TO YOU to LOOK OUT FOR CURVES AND ADJUST SPEED AS NECESSARY!:

Arrived at the Hells Canyon Outlook, all kinds of placards but this is a good description (click on the picture to be able to read the text easier):

Panorama at the outlook. Beautiful:

Even though it was early July the flowers were still blooming:

Going towards Joseph, just off the NFS roads was an Oregon Scenic highway:

The final stop was the Indian Lodge motel, Joseph Oregon, where I would spend the night. Nice clean motel, updated. E-Mail tells you how to check in, e-mail also tells you how to check out. Don't need to talk to anybody. A shower felt REALLY good. Good food within walking distance.
