Motorcycle Trip Home to the Olympic Peninsula 2020-05-13
A playlist of all of the videos from the ride from May 13 thru May 16.
We started our ride east / south of Seattle headed to the Olympic Peninsula mapped out to Copalis Beach. The ride started out nice enough, with a 70 percent chance of rain.
We rode over the Tacoma Narrows Bridge, otherwise known as 'Galloping Gertie' from a past incarnation.
This video shows a bright Sunshine ride across the bridge
We also passed over the Hood Canal Floating Bridge (one of four in the state). Note: Try to stay on the concrete strips in the metal grating ESPECIALLY when the grating is wet or you may find your tires have NO grip (and you won't be generating forward momentum).
Still sunshine for this video for the bridge ride.
Riding past Lake Crescent where there was some construction and more rain. Still beautiful views riding around the lake:
Just past Lake Crescent we rode into Forks, of course the setting for the 'Twilight' TV show. Got gas and went on our way to Copalis Beach.
While riding out HWY 101 from Forks, WA to the Sea the Sun finally graced us with its presence for a little while. This view is looking out at the Pacific from Ruby Beach towards Destruction Island. If you zoom in you will see the faint outline of the lighthouse:

Dress for the ride. We did, had rain gear on the bikes. By the time we hit Bremerton we started getting hit by the 70 percent chance of rain. But it didn't matter, we were riding.
