June 12 - From Home to Florence Oregon
Rode down to Avila Beach with a friend, they had just moved from the Seattle area down to the San Diego area. They didn't have room on the trailer for their bike and also hadn't been on a long ride, so we rode down together. Got a late start (my fault) so instead of going down parts of the Pacific Coast Highway (Highway 101 / Highway 1) as I had originally planned just jumped on I-5. I plan on doing a US 1 ride in the future, need to remember to check road conditions first as that road has issues.
Packed the bike and I was off, with that much on a tall bike maneuverability was reduced, it was a little top heavy (hence no tent for trips this long any more, stay in hotels):
This is a short segment showing the green forest and twisties of Oregon from the first day's ride on Highway 126 from I-5 to the coast.
June 13 - Riding from Florence to camp for the night at Standish-Hickey SRA:
This is why I love the the Pacific Coast Highway. As you can see in this video, you are riding along and then all of the sudden you get through a town and the entire Pacific Ocean opens up with amazing views:
... and of course the twisties :-):

June 14 - Arrive at Inn At Avila Beach - The last stop before Route 66:
I also took a video of the first time I have done Splitting, legal in California. It was an interesting experience on a large bike like the Triumph Tiger with the big panniers.
Ride down to Avila Beach was the hottest yet, it got above 95 degrees F. The Triumph is a tank, no rise in the temperature gauge. I didn't know yet that this wasn't yet the hottest I would have to ride through (foreshadowing).
